Circuit racing is the newest way of racing in GTRacer. You can race dozens of other users in real-time, on (at this moment) 6 different tracks. There are also different kind of races available, which are explained below.

[edit] Circuits

[edit] Rookie Circuit

This is the easiest track: It's short and easy for rookies, beginners.

[edit] Evelyn Valley

This is a bit harder than Rookie Circuit, but still doable for rookies.

[edit] Groningen City

This circuit is a medium circuit (size/difficulty). You are driving in Hans his backyard.

[edit] Faberos

This circuit is a bit harder and longer than Evelyn Valley, but it's not really hard.

[edit] Babylon Circuit

This track is designed as a F1 circuit, but also usable for other races. Harder then the previous tracks but not as hard as West Circuit.

[edit] West Circuit

The hardest and longest circuit of the six.

[edit] Race types

[edit] Beginner race

Since update 0.64 it is possible to have beginner races. The usual restrictions apply, but the only thing is that you have to 10 or less circuit race wins to join. This way new users have chances of winning circuit races as well and practice.

[edit] P.I. limitation

Every race can have it's own P.I. limit, apart from the race type itself.

[edit] Free class

There are no rules/restrictions in Free class, except a possible P.I. limitation.

[edit] AWD/FWD/RWD

There is one restriction in this race type: The drive train.

[edit] Classic

You can only join a classic car race with a car older than 1980

[edit] Brand

You can only join a brand race with a specific brand, for example: Suzuki.

[edit] Type

You can only join a type race with a specific brand and type, for example: Suzuki Swift.

[edit] Heavyweight

You can only join a heavyweight race with a car with a minimal weight of: 1800kg.

[edit] GTI

You can only join a GTI Challenge with a car of the type 'GTI'. For example: Volkswagen Golf I GTI, or Suzuki Swift GTI.

[edit] GTR

You can only join a GTR Challenge with a car of the type 'GTR' or 'GT-R'. For example a Nissan Skyline R23 GT-R.

[edit] AMG

You can only join an AMG race with a Mercedes Benz AMG.

[edit] Swift Sport Cup

You can only join this race with a Suzuki Swift 1.6 Sport.

[edit] GTRacer Cup

If there is a GTRacer Cup 500, it means that you may participate with a car with a maximum PI of 500. But there is a minimum PI restriction: It's 100 less than the max, so in this case a PI of 400.

Finally, there is a weight restriction: Your car needs to weigh more than 1200 KG's, and the drivetrain needs to be RWD.

[edit] Stock

Well, this mode speaks voor itself. You can only join with Stock class cars. So no stripping, tuning, etc. Just original power.

Tire changes are allowed though. Tire changes won't affect whether the car is Stock or Tuner.

[edit] Country

For example a Japanese car race. Only cars from Japan are allowed to join.

[edit] Continent

For example an European car race.

[edit] Participating

You can sign in 5 hours in advance max. If you will be present at a race does not matter, but it's very handy. For example, you can change driving style, keep an eye on the quality of your car and tires, and make pit stops.

[edit] Complete bodykit

This restriction counts for ALL types of races: You need a complete body kit. This can be the default bodykit, ofcourse, but it is not allowed that there are body parts missing.

[edit] Minimum quality

The minimum quality of your car is a little bit higher than during drag races. In theory, it's possible that you can get in a car, but you can't sign in a circuit race with that car.

  • Minimum tire quality before starting the circuit race is 20
  • Minimum car quality before starting the circuit race is 20

[edit] Being present at a circuit race (or not)

Often when you sign into a race, this race has not started yet. It's up to you if you want to be present at the race: It's not neccessary. You'll join with the driving style 'Normal' by default, so if you want to change this driving style, you have to be present during the race.

[edit] Wear

If your car, the engine, the turbo or the tires will wear so much that the quality will get under 10 points, you won't be able to finish the race. You'll get the status 'DNF' (Did not finish), and the race will be over for you.

Hint: Make sure you have a good quality car before joining a race. The only thing you can change during the race are the tires!

[edit] Weather

Read the weather forecast very carefully. Try to mount the correct tires that are advised. If no tires are advised, follow your intuition...

[edit] Fuel

Try not to fuel too much. It will cost weight.

Bare in mind that you need at least 0.3 litres of fuel left to be able to finish. Otherwise you will be DNF.

[edit] During the race

[edit] Weather

The weather can change during a race. For example, if it starts to rain, while you have Slicks mounted, it´s probably a good idea to change your tires in the pits.

If it´s raining a little bit, and you think it´s not going to rain harder? Intermediates is the best choice.

If it's raining very hard, Full wets are the best.

[edit] Pits

If there is a race going on, you'll be able to enter the pits. There is a button in the menu for that. If you click it, you WON'T go there with your car directly, but you can view the quality values first. The screen that appears then will show you a button you can use to change tires. A pitstop will take up up to 30 seconds, keep that in mind.

[edit] Driving Style

During a race you can change driving style. The same system is active, as with drag races: With 'Passive' you won't damage your car at all, but your laptimes will suck. when driving Aggressively, the chances that you'll make mistakes are bigger, but you'll drive much better laptimes!

Ofcourse, the wear will be higher driving aggressively. Driving passive your car and parts will hardly wear.

[edit] Tire temperature

Ideal tire temperature± Between 70 and 90 degrees

Having a too low tire temperature, will cause bad laptimes. Same with too high temperature.

Only when you´re having a too high temperature, that´s even dangerous. Plus that your tires will wear a lot faster!

[edit] Chat window

There is a chat window available during a race. The user 'Sys' will post messages every now and then. This user will tell you what happened in the previous round: Did someone enter the pits? Did a user (or you?) made a mistake, etc etc. Users and spectators are able to chat here as well.

[edit] After the race

[edit] Circuit skill

You will gain circuit skills when participating in circuit races. The higher the skill, the lower the chance that you make mistakes, and you more consistent laptimes you drive.

[edit] Prices

The price money you see, is the price that the number one winner gets. The number 2 gets 50 % of that amount. The number 3 gets 25 %.

If there are more than 8 racers, the numbers 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 will also get a price: 12,5 % of the price amount.

And ofcourse, you'll gain XP points when winning a price.

[edit] Achievements

There are 3 achievements you can achieve with circuit races. They speak for themselves:

  • Won a circuit race.
  • Record holder: Fastest time on a track.
  • Circuit Skill boven de 50.

[edit] Statistics

You'll find these statistics on the statistics page:

  • Your own laptimes of all circuits.
  • Daily records.
  • Weekly records.
  • Monthly records.
  • Records of all times.

[edit] Tips

A few hints and tips:

  • Not only HP's counts, but also:
    • Car handling (a LOT!)
    • Torque (Nm).
    • Weight.
    • Quality of the engine.
    • Quality of the tires (means a lot).
    • Kind of tires (Slicks are always the best choice).
    • If you have a turbo installed: Quality of the turbo.
    • The level of a car does mean less in circuit races than in drag races.
    • Drive train: FWD is much less effective than RWD or AWD.
    • Downgrading your car (for example, to reach a certain amount of HP) is not a smart thing to do.
    • If there is a HP limit, try go get your Nm values as high as possible. There is no restriction on Nm's (Torque), but it matters alot!
